Andrew Tate Sues Accusers In Human Trafficking Case In $5 Million Defamation Suit

Social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan, are suing a Florida woman for defamation. They say she falsely accused them of holding her in Romania, leading to their arrest on human trafficking charges.

In their lawsuit, the brothers seek at least $5 million in damages and name the woman, her parents, another woman who lived at the Tates’ Romanian house and a male friend of the woman as involved parties.

The Tates assert that the group worked together to form a human trafficking and rape case against them. The Tates’ attorneys, Thomas Maniotis and Joseph D. McBride, insist that the Florida woman is “a professional con artist” who entered a sexual relationship with Tristan to move to the brothers’ house in Romania. She then attempted to defraud them out of $200,000 by claiming she needed it for “something important.” This failed, leading her to make false statements to authorities claiming human trafficking. Maniotis and McBride then listed several other men they say the Florida woman had similarly taken advantage of previously.

Romanian authorities arrested the brothers in December 2022 and formally charged them last month, claiming they were violent towards seven women and forced them into recording pornography. The victims were controlled by “intimidation, constant surveillance” and suggestions that they were in debt. Romanian police also say that the Tates and two Romanian women organized a criminal group in 2021 “to commit the crime of human trafficking” in Romania, Britain, and the U.S. The pair are currently under house arrest in Bucharest.

The Tates denied these allegations in their lawsuit, arguing that the Florida woman was “not restrained in her movement, never confined, never controlled by any person nor was she threatened in any manner and always had free will.”

Andrew, a former kickboxer, was banned from YouTube, Facebook and TikTok for making misogynistic remarks and engaging in hate speech. But his Twitter account is still active where he boasts more than seven million followers.
