Fans of Absolutely Fabulous (or AbFab, as they call it) who tune in regularly to Logo may feel as if their favorite foulmouthed friends, Patsy Stone and Edina Monsoon, never went anywhere, but believe it or not it has been 20 years since the show first aired in 1992. In honor of that milestone, the original cast will reunite for three special episodes, the BBC announced today.

AbFab chronicles the efforts of PR exec Edina and magazine editor Patsy, played by Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley, to live glamorous and satisfyingly intoxicated lives in London. Created by Saunders, the show has maintained a healthy afterlife beyond its five seasons, which, in addition to other specials, were scattered from its premiere to the year 2004. These upcoming three episodes, which will air simultaneously on BBC America and Logo but have not been given exact air dates, will also bring back Edina’s daughter, Saffy (Julia Sawalha), and assistant Bubble (Jane Horrocks). In the concluding episode, Patsy and Edina will play a special part in the 2012 London Olympics, BBC's announcement also stated.

“Like a good bottle of Champagne, we hope that we have gotten better with time without losing any of our sparkle," Saunders said in a statement. "Last week when we started filming in dear old west London, it was as if nothing had changed. It was raining. Nevertheless we are so happy to be working for an audience that has grown just a tiny bit older like us but is still willing to let us fall over on TV in the name of P.R.”
