Amy Winehouse, the late singer and songwriter, was rumored to be heading out on a world tour in hologram form in the near future. Those plans, however, have been canceled.

Amy Winehouse Hologram Tour Axed

“Our London office was in negotiations with the managers of Amy’s music and image to bring something the world craved — closeness with the beloved artist and her voice,” FilmOn CEO Alki David told TV Mix. “But I have no desire to cause her family any duress, and have withdrawn all offers to the family to make this happen.”

David and FilmOn had been hoping to resurrect the beloved artist in hologram form for the sake of her fans. In life, the “Valerie” singer never managed to go on a world tour.

“The plan is that Amy will finally tour the world after failing to do so when she was alive,” David previously told The Sun. “
With an orchestra and her hologram, she can take to the stage and fans can see her perform her legendary hits.”

At the time, Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch Winehouse reportedly said, ”The most important thing to Amy was the music and I’m sure a lot of people would like to hear her sing again, whether it’s a book, an album or a hologram.”

Both Mitch Winehouse and Janis Winehouse, Amy’s mother, have shut down all speculation about the hologram tour on Twitter

“Alki’s team had gone through all the proper channels so they were amazed when they saw Mitch react as if he’d never heard about it,” an insider told Shockya.com. “The talks hadn’t reached the money stage, although Alki has been left wondering if that was a factor. But Alki won’t be losing any sleep as there are a number of options on the table to recreate other major artists.”
