Amy Schumer was so taken aback by an encounter with a man in South Carolina that she said that she would no longer take pictures with fans – but she’s since changed her mind.

Schumer took to Instagram Saturday with a picture of Leslie Brewer, the man she says scared her on the streets of Greenville, S.C., when he tried to take a picture of her.

“This guy in front of his family just ran up next to me scared the shit out of me. Put a camera in my face. I asked him to stop and he said ‘no it’s America and we paid for you’ this was in front of his daughter,” Schumer captioned the picture of Brewer. “I was saying stop and no. Great message to your kid. Yes legally you are allowed to take a picture of me. But I was asking you to stop and saying no. I will not take picture with people anymore and it’s because of this dude in Greenville.”

In response to Schumer’s Instagram post, Brewer spoke to the media, claiming that she wasn’t giving the full story. “I did it in a non-threatening way. She says I got all up in her face, and it was completely different from the video,” Brewer told Fox Carolina.

Brewer had posted a video of the interaction on his own Instagram page, captioning it, “Amy schumer just got mad at me and cussed me out lmao!!! Awesome. [sic]”

As for Schumer’s post about him, Brewer knew it was coming, as the comedian apparently walked back towards him following the initial encounter and told him that she was going to take a picture of him and show it to her followers. “It was literally five minutes and it was like, everywhere,” Brewer said, adding, “You’re a celebrity. I understand you want to blast me but that’s petty, that’s beneath you.”

Schumer has since reassured her nicer fans that she is still open to taking pictures with them. But, if she says “no,” she expects to be left alone to carry on with her life.

“I’ll still take pictures with nice people when I choose if it’s a good time for that,” she posted on Twitter. “But I don’t owe you anything. So don’t take if I say no.”
