Amy Schumer Slams Australian Radio Host In Awkward Interview
Amy Schumer, promoted her film Trainwreck in Australia this week. During an interview with Kiis 101.1 on Wednesday, Schumer had a few unpleasant words for one of the hosts.
Amy Schumer Unhappy With Australian Radio Host
“We loved the film, thank you,” the female host told Schumer. “You made me cry a lot — the drama was just as strong for me as the comedy was. It was beautiful.”
The film is a romantic comedy about a promiscuous, hard-drinking woman who comes to realize how destructive her behavior is.
“There’s a lot of me in this movie,” Schumer revealed. “I am not embarrassed to say that. I would say it’s me like ten years ago, when I was a sophomore in college.”
The interviewers admitted to their own reckless pasts and how much they could relate.
The interview took a turn when the female host praised Schumer for her great legs in the film. “You looked gorgeous,” the host said.
“Thank you. The costume designer Lisa Evans, on this movie, it was her idea to make everything just a little too short. That’s a lot of leg,” Schumer replied.
The interview turned to awkward when the male radio host asked, “Do you have the word ‘skanky’ in America?”
“We do have that word — what made you think about your mom?” Schumer shot back.
The host attempted to defend himself, explaining that he just described her character in the movie.
“I’m not trying to offend you,” he insisted, to which Schumer remarked, “Whatever you’re trying to do, you are. That’s a rude question.”
The interview became even weirder when talk turned to pubic hair, and the male host brought up his mom again. “Remember my skanky mom?” he asked Schumer.
Schumer tried to offer some kind words telling the host his mother sounds lovely. However, the comedian found out that his mother passed away. “God has a plan,” Schumer offered.
