Amy Poehler caught U2 frontman Bono by surprise when she pulled him in for a quick make out at the 71st Annual Golden Globes.
While Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke and Chris O’Donnell read out the names of the nominees for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical, Poehler sat comfortably on Bono’s lap while he gave her a shoulder massage to ease her nerves.
When it was announced that Poehler won for playing Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation, the 43-year-old actress spun around and locked lips with the purple shades-wearing rocker. While he may have expected the initial kiss, Bono, 53, didn’t seem quite ready for the full-blown make out session with the actress.
Poehler’s boyfriend Nick Kroll, best known for starring in The League, poked fun at the lip-lock on Twitter by telling Bono to watch out.
Once up on the stage at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Poehler appeared to be genuinely unsettled at the prospect of giving an acceptance speech. “Wow, I was not prepared for this!" Poehler admitted. "I've never won anything like this."
"I think I'm 0 for 13 in these awards shows," Poehler added later to E! News. "So I was very, very, very surprised to win and very excited."
