‘America’s Got Talent’ Singer ‘Nightbirde’ Dies From Cancer At 31

Singer Jane Marczewski, whose stage name was ‘Nightbirde,’ has lost her fight with cancer and died at age 31.

Marczewski was known for her outstanding performance on America’s Got Talent. There she earned the Golden Buzzer from America’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell in June after singing her original song “It’s Okay” about her determination to remain positive and hopeful during the worst of times.

The singer had to drop out of the televised competition just a few weeks later due to her health taking a turn for the worse, draining all her energy and attention.

Marczewski was first diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2017. Three years later, she had learned that it had spread to her liver, lungs, spine and lymph nodes.

“She said this all the time: ‘Life is both beautiful and very sad.’ Those two can go together at the same time,” said her sister, Katelyn. “Life sucks sometimes. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t good things that are also happening, and that doesn’t mean that good things aren’t coming.”

Despite her health weighing her down, Marczewski always made sure to have a positive outlook throughout it all.

“She went through hell in the last four years, but she always had a hope that something good was coming,” Katelyn said.

Marczewski’s family and friends watched the airing of her America’s Got Talent performance at The Trout Club in Newark.

The Marczewski family asked for contributions to be made to the Nightbirde Memorial Fund, which will create a new memorial foundation to donate to cancer research and support those who may be unable to afford treatment.
