Michael Lynche, known as Big Mike on American Idol, was eliminated from the talent show over the weekend for violating its confidentiality agreement. According the New York Post, Lynche’s father told a local newspaper that his son had made the semifinals, despite having signed a contract that prohibits singers and their families from sharing the results of the week before they appear on TV. Though Fox has declined to report on the incident, notorious Idol spoiler website Joe’s Place alleges that Lynche was replaced with another Top 50 contestant. Lynche is a high school football hero and his mother, ironically enough, is a columnist for the local newspaper. –KADEEN GRIFFITHS
