Amanda Bynes was released from involuntary psychiatric hold on Thursday night, and has since announced her plans to file suit against her father for abuse and sue to end the conservatorship over her.
Bynes was committed for psychiatric evaluation on Oct. 10, just after getting arrested for another DUI and going on a Twitter rant and accusing her father of molesting her when she was a child. She later recanted, and the tweets have since been deleted.
“My dad was verbally and physically abuse to me as a child…He called me ugly as a child and then asked me if I wanted to have sex with him and I did not know how to respond and I said no and then I was forced to live with my dad which was a total nightmare,” Bynes claimed.
Bynes’ parents, Lynn Bynes and Richard Bynes, placed Bynes in psychiatric hold after the allegations surfaced in early October. On Monday, Oct. 27, Bynes’ psychiatric hold was extended another 30 days and Lynn Bynes was granted temporary conservatorship over her daughter.
However, just three days later, a judge ruled that Bynes was competent enough not to be held against her will, and Bynes left the psychiatric facility. She was spotted by TMZ walking down the Sunset Strip on Thursday night. Reports alleged that the troubled actress wandered into a few hotels, requesting a place to stay, but was turned away.
On Friday, Oct. 31, Bynes returned to Twitter and immediately launched into another one of her Twitter rants. Bynes announced her intentions to go to court to contest the conservatorship. “I am going to court today with my lawyer to prove that I am more than capable of handling my personal life and fiancés and I am enraged,” Bynes wrote.
Bynes then brought up the accusations that her father had abused her, alleging that her parents had put her under involuntary psychiatric hold in an effort to keep her quiet: “I got released from the hospital that Sam Lufti and my parents arranged to send me to because my dad is humiliated by what he’s done.”
Lufti was reportedly involved in her recent psychiatric hold, something he tweeted about on his own Twitter account. Lufti famously managed Britney Spears during the pop star’s own period of erratic behavior. Spears’ mother, Lynne Spears, claimed that Lufti verbally abused Spears and drugged her to control her.
Bynes emphasized her accusations against her father, writing, “The police filed a report against my dad – I am not able to be in the same room with him. He is a sexual predator and he SHOULD BE IN JAIL.”
Bynes appears convinced that Lufti and her parents are working together to gain control of her $5.7 million net worth.
