Amanda Bynes Back In ‘5150’ Psychiatric Hold For Second Time This Year
Amanda Bynes has been placed on a 5150 hold for the second time this year.
The former child star, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, reportedly called the police on herself on Saturday morning and was then placed on a 5150 hold after medical staff regarded her as a “danger to herself and others.”
A 5150 hold is when a person is taken to a psychiatric facility for 72 hours for mental evaluation and treatment.
This is the first time the What A Girl Wants star has been seen since her first psychiatric hold two months ago, in which she stayed for three weeks. Before she was placed in the facility, she was seen walking the streets of Los Angeles in the nude for four days.
Last year, she and ex-fiance Paul Michael called off their two-year engagement. Bynes’ family and friends reportedly claim that the split triggered the actress’s breakdown and “that he is not a healthy and safe person for her to be around.”
Bynes’s previous run-ins with the law include two hit-and-runs and a DUI in 2012, and in 2013 was arrested for reportedly tossing a bong out of her apartment window in New York City.
Bynes is best known for her various roles in Nickelodeon’s The Amanda Show, a spinoff of All-That. Her last appearance on screen was in Easy A as Marianne.
