Amanda Bynes, the embattled former child star and actress, was arrested for a DUI in Los Angeles in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Amanda Bynes Arrested

Bynes was arrested at 3 a.m. Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol confirmed to E! News. The 28-year-old was pulled over and charged with a misdemeanor after law enforcement officials “determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance.”

Following her arrest, Bynes was held at the Van Nuys, Calif., police station on $15,000 bail. Bynes was released Sunday afternoon at 12:44 p.m.

In January, Bynes reached a plea deal for her April 2012 DUI arrest. Per the deal, Bynes pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of “wet reckless” and had to complete a three-month alcohol-education course and serve three years of probation.

Bynes had reportedly been focusing on her health and studies as of late, living with her parents in California and enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. In June, the charges stemming from a bong-throwing incident in New York last year were dropped because Bynes completed six months of counseling and had kept herself out of trouble. At that time, Bynes, who had her license suspended following her 2012 DUI arrest, was given a new license.

Bynes is scheduled to appear in court for her latest DUI arrest Oct. 23.
