Amanda Bynes '5150' Lockdown: Actress Taken For Mental Evaluation After Allegedly Starting Fire

Amanda Bynes’ unpredictable behavior has once again seen her forced to undergo a mental health evaluation. While last time it was after she was allegedly smoking marijuana in her apartment lobby and proceeded to throw a bong out a window when police arrived, this time it’s because she allegedly set fire to someone’s driveway.

Bynes flew from New York to visit her hometown of Thousand Oaks, Calif., late last week. While there, on July 22, she allegedly started the fire. “Deputies investigated the incident and determined that [Bynes] met the criteria of 5150 [California Welfare & Institutions Code],” Cpt. Don Aguilar of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department told the New York Daily News. California’s 5150 hold is essentially an involuntary psychiatric hold.

Amanda Bynes arrives at her court date on July 9

The fire would mark the second time that Bynes has caused trouble since arriving on the West Coast. On July 21, the former child star was accused of trespassing at a local retirement community, reported TMZ. Management at the retirement home had turned Bynes away, accusing her of drunkenness, and tried to dismiss her from the premises, according to Bynes’ cab driver. "Get me the f**k out of here," she reportedly told the driver. "I don't have any money." When he let her out, she walked back to the retirement home where cops were called and she was accused of trespassing. There’s no record of arrest for the incident.

Amanda Bynes mug shot on May 23

On May 23, Bynes was arrested in her Manhattan apartment and booked for reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and criminal possession of marijuana. Following the incident, she was taken to Roosevelt Hospital and put under psychiatric observation.

During her hearing on July 9, where she donned a green wig, Bynes was scheduled to return to court to face the charges on Aug. 26.
