Amal & George Clooney are expecting twins, friends of the couple say.

Rumors of Amal’s pregnancy erupted when she was photographed in Barcelona last month looking a little “rounder” than before. “She’s pregnant with twins,” confirmed a friend. The Talk host Julie Chen also confirmed the news that she and George discussed the babies in late January. The twins are due in June.

“Beyoncé is not the only superstar expecting twins,” said Chen on the program. “Congratulations are in order for George and Amal Clooney!”

Amal, 39, is a prominent human rights lawyer, and married Clooney, 55, in Venice in 2014. Her clients include former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and WikiLeaks creater Julian Assange.

Amal was born Amal Alamuddin in Lebanon, but fled to Britain when she was three to escape the civil war. She graduated from Oxford with a law degree and is qualified to practice law in both the UK and US.
