Alyssa Milano is once again advocating for breastfeeding mothers, publicly shaming Heathrow Airport for throwing out her pumped breast milk during a security check.
Milano, mother of two, took to Twitter on Thursday after her breast milk was confiscated by security at Heathrow Airport to express her anger. “[Heathrow Airport] just took my pumped breast milk away. 10 ounces. Gone. Not okay,” the actress wrote.
Milano, who has advocated for a woman’s right to breastfeed publicly and without shame in the past, is currently breastfeeding her 7-month old daughter, Elizabella, but was reportedly not traveling with her daughter this week when her milk was confiscated.
Milano pointed out that the security had let her bring the appropriate amount of liquid cosmetics on the flight after quick testing, but refused to do the same with her breastmilk.
Heathrow responded, suggesting her breast milk must have exceeded the 100mil (3.4ounce) liquid rule, writing, “Unfortunately, without a baby present, the government requires all liquids in carry-ons to follow the 100ml rule.”
Paquin and Milano aren’t the only famous mothers who have taken their breastfeeding journeys public. Olivia Wilde posed in Glamour breastfeeding her son, Otis, in August 2014. In the magazine, Wilde called breastfeeding “the most natural thing.”
Models Gisele Bundchen and Doutzen Kroes have also shared photos on Instagram to promote breastfeeding.
