Alleged Serial Killer Rebecca Auborn Charged With Drugging, Robbing & Murdering Four Men, Police Search For More Victims

Rebecca Auborn, 33, was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on multiple charges that include murder, involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery.

The Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force received information about a woman who had allegedly met four men for sex dates in northeast Columbus, after which she would drug them with fentanyl and steal their belongings.

In the investigation, led by the Columbus Division of Police and BCI special agents who are part of the task force, authorities established a connection between Auborn and several cases that involved overdoses and robberies. Among these cases were four fatal overdoses that occurred between January and June 2023.

Auborn was charged on September 11 with multiple offenses, which included aggravated robbery, felonious assault, murder, corruption of another with drugs, trafficking in drugs and illegal drug manufacturing, as part of the same investigation.

The indictment says the fatal overdoses happened on January 15, April 1, April 13 and June 17. The only survivor met Auborn on December 13.

Court records from a separate case show that Auborn confessed to detectives that she had combined fentanyl with a man’s crack pipe after they met for sex. In that particular incident, Auborn informed detectives that she was aware the man would overdose and proceeded to take his vehicle and debit card, as detailed in the court records.

Auborn has been held in custody at the Franklin County jail since the initial charges were filed.

The investigation is ongoing and particularly focused on dates between December 2022 and August 2023.

Detectives believe that “additional victims may exist,” and have asked that anyone with knowledge of Auborn should reach out to the police.

Auborn’s defense attorney has declined any comment.
