Alicia Vikander & Michael Fassbender Marry In Secret Ibiza Getaway

Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender got married over the weekend in a secret ceremony in Ibiza.

ALICIA VIKANDER & MICHAEL FASSBENDER MARRIED

According to reports, both actors were wearing weddings rings on Sunday. They were first spotted on the Spanish island on Friday, and Steve McQueen, who’s directed Fassbender in film, was pictured at a party at a restaurant Friday afternoon. The couple exchanged vows at La Granja farmstead resort, surrounded by family and friends.

Vikander, 29, and Fassbender, 40, met in 2014 on the set of their movie The Light Between Oceans, in which his soon-to-be wife played his onscreen wife. The couple remained low key despite rumors that they were dating at the time. “I knew that Michael was attached to play Tom, and I think he’s one of the most brilliant actors out there,” Vikander told The Hollywood Reporter of her 2014 co-star. “I was up for the game, but I was very nervous. I got people that picked me up when I fell and who pushed me. Michael’s support in those scenes were a big part of me daring to go all the way, which was needed for the role of Isabel.”

Fassbender returned the compliment. “I was kind of scared when Alicia came—she was so fierce and hungry,” he told reporters. “I really felt like I had to get my s–t together… and just be there and be as present as she was.”

The couple kept quiet about their relationship, but never denied it. “I think we’ve made a clear statement that we keep certain things just between us,” Vikander told People. “It was very easy to unite, but that’s quite personal.”

And when asked how they manage to stay out of the spotlight, unlike other stars, Fassbender had a simple response. “But that’s other people. Each to their own,” he said. “I’m not going to talk about my private life with a total stranger, unless I feel like I need to. Why would I? I don’t.”

The pair made their first public debut as a couple at the Golden Globes in 2016. Fassbender shared that he was “very proud” of Vikander’s success, as she was nominated twice for her performances in The Danish Girl and Ex Machina.
