Rock singer Alice Cooper has lost his deal with Vampyre Cosmetics after making comments that offended the transgender community.

During an interview with Stereogum last week, Cooper was asked to share his opinions on gender-affirming care and upset readers with his controversial stance.

“I’m understanding that there are cases of transgender, but I’m afraid that it’s also a fad and I’m afraid there’s a lot of people claiming to be this just because they want to be that,” he explained.

Following the interview, the LGBTQ-owned cosmetic company with whom Cooper had a deal announced its decision to end the collaboration, which was only two weeks in the making.

“In light of recent statements by Alice Cooper, we will no longer be doing a makeup collaboration,” the company wrote in a statement. “We stand with all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and believe everyone should have access to healthcare.”
