Alexander Skarsgård and Alexa Chung have split after dating, mostly out of the view of the public, for the past two years.
The couple broke-up a month after their two year anniversary, according to the Daily Mail.
While the True Blood actor and the fashion designer were private about their relationship, they occasionally were seen out together. Most recently, the pair were spotted in May, appearing together at the Met Gala in New York City.
Other than the rare public sighting, there was little else to suggest they were together – neither Skarsgård, 40, nor Chung, 33, ever confirmed the relationship.
“No one cheated on anyone. It was a clean breakup that was caused by busy schedules and distance. They really did love each other and were pretty serious. They still have a respect for a each other,” a source told E! News.
Following the breakup, Page Six reported that Skarsgård was set up on a blind date with model Toni Garrn although that report has since been disputed.
According to the site, the Big Little Lies actor and Garrn, who previously dated Leonardo DiCaprio, met each other in Long Island for a group hang out.
“This was the first time they met,” a source told Page Six. “It was a blind date set up by a mutual friend. Toni was nervous, so she brought two girlfriends. They had lunch at his house and then all hit Gurney’s.”
Garrn’s representative disputed the story but also admitted that she wasn’t positive the two hadn’t met.
Furthermore, the source added, “There is no romance. A few people all hang out. Very casual. It wasn’t a date. Nothing is going on with them.”
