Contestants on last night’s episode of Jeopardy! utterly failed to answer a few questions about football just shortly before Super Bowl LII.
“I can tell you guys are big football fans,” host Alex Trebek joked after a contestant failed to answer a $200 question.
The young contestant then tried the $400, $600 and $800 questions, but only audience laughter could be heard as he struggled to answer identify which team Tom Landry perfected the shotgun formation with (The Dallas Cowboys), fair catches and offsetting penalties.
“Let’s look at the thousand dollar clue, just for the fun of it,” Trebek said after it was clear that the contestants wouldn’t luck out in the football category. “If you guys ring in and get this one, I will die.”
The contestant in question didn’t seem too bothered by his lack of football knowledged, and he seemed to be joking about it with the others about it after.
