Alec Baldwin To Play 'Rob Ford-Type' Mayor Of NYC
Alec Baldwin is reportedly in talks to play a “Rob Ford-Like” mayor of New York City in an upcoming TV series.
Alec Baldwin Playing Rob Ford?
Baldwin is developing a series in which he’ll play the Mayor of New York City, who has some similarities to embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, reports Deadline. Baldwin is said to be developing the project with NBC Productions.
Over the last year, Ford has made numerous headlines for his proclivity for substance abuse. Pictures have shown the mayor allegedly indulging in crack cocaine and going on explosive, drunken rants. Ford recently wrapped up a two-month stint in rehab after offering repeated denials that he had a drug problem. He’s since admitted to having abused drugs before he even sought the office of mayor, but shows no sign of retiring from public life.
In addition to the TV project, Baldwin is slated to star in Mission: Impossible 5 as the head of the CIA. The erstwhile 30 Rock star, could also be joining the cast of the untitled Peter Landesman project about football concussions, which already has Will Smith on board.
Baldwin currently has four films in post-production, including Torrent 5, the untitled Cameron Crowe Project, the untitled Warren Beatty Project and Still Alice with Julianne Moore and Kristen Stewart.
