Alec Baldwin returned to Saturday Night Live this week to play the role of President Donald Trump.
Baldwin, who hosted the show’s episode, appeared for a sketch about Trump’s dissatisfaction with the federal court decision on his Muslim travel ban.
Baldwin’s Trump appeared on The People’s Court, which was presided over by Cecily Strong.
“Mr. Trump, you understand that this is a TV court, right?”, Strong asked.
“That’s okay, I’m a TV president,” Baldwin-as-Trump responded.
Trump accused the federal judges of being mean and disrespectful to him. He stated his case: “I signed a tremendous travel ban. I didn’t read it, but I signed it. People took pictures of me holding up a piece of paper. Very official. These judges have been very disrespectful. I’m right. They’re wrong. I want the ban reinstated. Also I want $725.”
He went on to bring out a bare-chested Vladimir Putin (Beck Bennett) as a witness, calling him “an incredible person with impeccable credentials.”
“Lay off President Trump, okay?” the character of Putin said. “He’s my little American Happy Meal.”
The judge got exasperated with Trump and ruled against him. “You’re doing too much! I want one day without a CNN alert that scares the hell out of me,” she said.
