Alec Baldwin Plays Donald Trump In A Shower With Paul Manafort On ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Weinstein Joke Panned [VIDEO]
Alec Baldwin returned to Saturday Night Live last night as President Donald Trump in a sketch about his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who was indicted and put under house arrest last week.
In the cold open, Manafort said, “Whatever happens sir, I won’t betray you.” Then the scene cuts to the two men standing naked in a shower with the water running. Trump explained, “I wanted to make sure you weren’t wearing a wire, Paul.”
Attorney General Jeff Sessions (Kate McKinnon) and Mike Pence (Beck Bennett), wearing a suit, also join them in the shower. “I can’t pardon you now as it would look too suspicious,” Trump said. “We’ll wait a few weeks, dress you up like a turkey, and pardon you then.”
Baldwin’s joke about Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused by more than 40 women of sexual misconduct, drew the ire of critics on social media. “What an idiot that Harvey Weinstein is,” Trump said. “He could have gotten away with all of it if only he had gotten himself elected president.”
