Alec Baldwin, in character on the set of Blind, was struck by a cab driver in a scene that he shot Thursday in New York City.

Alec Baldwin Films ‘Blind’

Baldwin grimaced on the Blind set after his vision-impaired character was run down by a New York City cabbie. His suavely dressed character, who was just lifted up from the slick street where his cane remains, was gripping onto a passerby and the driver. While Baldwin was filmed leaning on the taxi and lying down in front of the wheels, a stunt man was called in to take the gentle hit from the car.

In Blind, Baldwin plays a novelist who is blinded and widowed in a tragic car crash. Seven years after the accident, he meets a married woman – played by Baldwin’s The Juror costar Demi Moore – who begins an affair with him. The two actors were spotted filming scenes together in New York earlier this week.

Blind, directed by Michael Mailer from a script John Buffalo Mailer adapted from Diane Fisher‘s novel, is slated to hit theaters sometime in 2016. Dylan McDermott and Viva Bianca will also star.
