Alec Baldwin must be wondering if those few extra minutes playing "Words with Friends" were worth all the fallout. Baldwin was playing the mobile app game while the plane idled at a gate Tuesday, the actor's rep told CBS News, and was subsequently kicked off the plane.

After a confrontation with an American Airlines flight attendant regarding the use of his portable electronic device, Baldwin left the aircraft and boarded another flight — but not before lambasting American Airlines via his since deleted Twitter feed.

"[F]light attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing Words With Friends while we sat at the gate, not moving," Baldwin, a prolific Twitter user, wrote. He then proceeded to joke that American Airlines is "where Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's find jobs as flight attendants."

While Baldwin is sticking to his story that he was innocently playing "Words with Friends," other passengers on the flight said he was actually talking on the phone, not just playing a game.

Other reports pinned Baldwin for violent and aggressive behavior. "Apparently he said he was playing a game, but he was actually talking on the phone. She [the flight attendant] was very nice. He got up, threw his papers on the floor, stormed into the bathroom, slammed the door closed, beat on the wall and then came back," passenger Steve Weiss told the New York Post. "He said 'If you want to kick me off, kick me off.' He was just crazy, he just flipped out, the guy has problems."
