Clay Aiken is apologizing for calling American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert's rendition of "Ring of Fire" "contrived," "awful" and "slightly frightening." "I obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard," Aiken wrote on his blog. He added that didn't intend it as "a 'slam' on Adam as a person." Aiken, a fellow Idol runner up, lost to Ruben Studdard in 2003. Lambert was heavily favored to win the competition but lost out to the more conventional Kris Allen. (Photo: WENN)
