After Bravo announced that Vanderpump Rules would replace its entire cast for its 12th season, series villain Tom Sandoval is speaking out.
“The unbelievable series of events that brought this group together still blows my mind to this day,” he wrote on Instagram. “From a random meeting with Jax while modeling in Miami, to responding to a Craigslist ad for another Tom looking for a roommate,” he continued. “Who would’ve thought that a stop along the way while chasing our dreams would turn into the cultural phenomenon that is Vanderpump Rules.”
“Most importantly, to each and every fan, THANK YOU ALL for believing [in] us and being part of this 12-year journey,” he wrote. “It’s hard to put into words what I’m feeling right now. As in life, so much has happened over the years.”
In a statement Bravo wrote, the new show will feature Lisa Vanderpump at her restaurant SUR along with a new group of “close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors.”
Vanderpump, 64, celebrated the change in a statement, saying, “The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears and everything in between.”
She continued, “I can’t thank enough those who have shared their lives. How I love you all. In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules.”
Lala Kent, 34, reacted to the news in an Instagram post. “Where to begin,” Kent said. “I was a young girl from Salt Lake City who made her way to L.A. I would introduce myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend referred to me as Lala, my nickname quickly stuck.”
Kent recalled her arrival on the show for Season 4 in 2015, saying, “Sur was a place that became home.”
After learning of her firing, Katie Maloney, 37, posted a picture of herself from when she first joined the cast.
“It’s a mixed bag. But I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for the memories and the love the last 11 years,” she wrote in the caption.
Vanderpump Rules first aired in 2013, starting as a spinoff of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
After a decade on air, the news struck in March 2023 that Sandoval, 42, and Ariana Madix, 39, split up after a decade together due to his affair with James Kennedy’s ex-fiancée, Rachel Leviss. The affiar became known as “Scandoval.”
Leviss then sued Sandoval and Madix over the release of a tape.
The affair caused a cast divide, leading Bravo to take a pause before filming Season 12.
While the new and improved series is set to begin production next year, the premiere date and cast have not yet been announced.
