After Upsetting Coco Gauff At Wimbledon, Gorgeous Ukrainian Tennis Star Dayana Yastremska Basks In Spotlight
Dayana Yastremska made headlines when she shocked tennis fans by upsetting the two-seed Coco Gauff at Wimbledon.
Yastremska, the No. 42 tennis player in the world, had reached the semifinals at the 2024 Australian Open and has three WTA singles titles.
The victory over Gauff, however, is the most noteworthy of her career. Fans are starting to tune in and learn about the new tennis star.
“These courts are made for great players, so I’m very grateful to be on this court,” she said.
Yastremska, 25, was born in Odesa, Ukraine. She has reached as high as No. 21 in the world rankings during her career.
Yastremska is allergic to grass, the same playing surface on which she’s competing at Wimbledon. She has previously said that despite the allergy, she enjoys playing on grass.
She has 220,000 followers on Instagram, which has grown dramatically just one day after defeating Gauff. Tennis isn’t her only talent; she released multiple songs in 2020.
Yastremska faced Anastasia Zakharova in the second round, but ended up losing.
