For the first time in years, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been invited to spend Christmas with Harry’s family – though not the royal side.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to celebrate the season at the late Princess Diana’s childhood home, Althorp House. The couple has not returned to the U.K. for the holiday since the family’s gathering at Sandringham in 2018.

Despite his estranged relationship with the Royal Family, Harry has remained close with Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, from whom he received the invitation.

It is unlikely that the couple will receive an invitation to Sandringham, where the rest of the Royal Family will be celebrating.

Harry and Markle have not attended a family holiday in the U.K. since surrendering their royal duties. Last month, Harry and Prince William were seen together for the first time since their father, King Charles, was coronated in 2023.

The family was gathered for the funeral of Lord Robert Fellowes, and the brothers did not speak to each other during the service.

Harry reportedly stayed with his uncle at Althorp House during his visit.
