After Donald Trump Jr. broke off an engagement with her last year, Kimberly Guilfoyle was named U.S. ambassador to Greece. She will soon take on her responsibilities after her likely Senate confirmation.

Trump Jr. had reportedly moved on months earlier with new girlfriend Bettina Anderson and had been seen around Palm Beach, Florida, with her.

The post is widely viewed as a reward for Guildoyle’s rabid devotion to the president and a convenient way to move her out of the spotlight in the U.S. The former Fox News presenter, who has no background in diplomacy, will be tasked with maintaining diplomatic relations, building economic ties and handling international disputes.

But if Guilfoyle is dreaming of a glamorous international lifestyle, she may be in for a surprise.

“She will always be on duty, she’s always news, she’s always a photo opportunity for the Greek press,” a former private secretary told The Sun. “She will be under continuous review.”

Her previous comments on Fox may also come back to bite her.

In 2015, while she was still a co-host of Fox News’ The Five, Guilfoyle dismissed the Greek people as being “freeloaders” and accused them of “retiring too early.” Greece was still reeling from the fallout of the 2008 economic crisis.

Given President Trump’s aggressive stance on NATO and the recent comments that European countries failed to pay for their defense, Guilfoyle will have her hands full keeping the peace in Athens.

Guilfoyle recently hinted at a new romance in life by posting a photo of gifted roses on Valentine’s Day.
