Reality TV star Tori Spelling opened up about what it was like to live in the legendary Spelling family home, often referred to as “The Manor.”

In an episode of her podcast MisSpelling, Spelling provided a glimpse into the extravagant and unique features of the estate.

She revealed that her parents, Aaron and Candy Spelling, purchased the property when she was 12 years old. The home had previously belonged to the legendary actor Bing Crosby. Sprelling noted, “[It’s a] little known fact my mom loved Bing Crosby, [she was] a huge fan, so that was a fun connection — and then she tore all that s— down.”

Spelling recalled when she toured the manor with her family before the sale. “There were hidden passageways and an underground library that you pushed on something and it went into these secret rooms…It was full on to the point where I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is my life. Mom, you have to keep it.’”

However, the Spelling family opted to demolish the structure and build their own custom home, which took them six years to complete. The final result was 56,000 square feet, with two driveways, two entrances, and an estimated 125 rooms. Spelling said it took six years to build.

Among the home’s many unique features, Spelling highlighted the underground level, which included a two-lane bowling alley, a small gym, an arcade, a bar, a pool table room and a doll museum housing Candy Spelling’s extensive collection. Spelling recalled that she and her brother would often use the doll museum to play pranks on their friends, as they dimmed the lights and popped out to startle them.

The main level of the home featured a projection room that served as the family’s living room, complete with leveled seating and a screen hidden behind a collection of Monet and Renoir paintings that would move to display the screen.

Despite the grandness of the estate, Spelling revealed that she did not have a strong emotional attachment to the property, as she only lived there for a year or two before her career took off with the hit TV series Beverly Hills, 90210. She noted that her best memories with her parents were created at the family’s previous, more modest home, as her father preferred smaller and cozier spaces.

Spelling has been living modestly lately. Last summer, she made headlines living with her five kids in an RV park.
