Britney Spears was spotted dining with her former boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz at Soho House in Malibu on Tuesday, just weeks after declaring herself single on social media.
The 42-year-old singer, known for hits like “Toxic” and “Gimme More,” attempted to maintain a low profile during the outing. Witnesses reported that Spears wore sunglasses and a large sun hat, paired with a floral top and white shorts. Soliz, 37, was seen in a blue plaid shirt and baggy pants.
This reunion comes as a surprise to many, given Spears’ recent public statements about her relationship status. On July 7, the singer took to Instagram to share a paparazzi photo of herself in a car with Soliz, questioning his behavior during the incident. In a separate post, Spears emphatically stated she was “single” and had no plans to date in the future.
Spears had reportedly ended her relationship with Soliz earlier, amid concerns about his intentions. According to media reports, the singer instructed her security team to remove Soliz from the approved visitor list at her gated community in Thousand Oaks, California. These actions suggested a desire to distance herself from her former boyfriend.
Soliz, who reportedly worked as Spears’ housekeeper, has a troubled past. He faces multiple criminal charges, including felony possession of a firearm. Their relationship began shortly after Spears’ divorce from Sam Asghari was filed in August 2023.
The couple’s history includes an incident at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles last May. Spears suffered an ankle injury during an alleged altercation with Soliz, though she publicly claimed it was the result of a dance mishap.
Friends of the singer have expressed concern about her association with Soliz.
This latest development follows a tumultuous period in Spears’ personal life, including the recent settlement of her high-profile conservatorship case in April. The singer has been in the public eye since childhood, facing intense scrutiny throughout her career and personal struggles.
Hay is expected to be sentenced on April 17.
