After Failed Concert Tour & Marriage, Jennifer Lopez Wants To Return To The Music Scene With ‘Big Dance Hit’

In the wake of her split from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is reportedly ready to throw herself into her music once more.

Although her last album, This Is Me…Now, released in February 2024, tanked, only ranking No.38 on Billboard’s top charts, Lopez was not discouraged from abandoning her musical career.

Before releasing This Is Me…Now, primarily about Affleck, Lopez had voiced some doubts about her future in the music industry, saying, “The truth is I don’t even know if I’ll ever make another album after this.”

A documentary inspired by Affleck was released alongside the album. The This Is Me…Now tour was also a remarkable flop, and Lopez became a headline for low ticket sales, causing her to cancel all the remaining shows. Privately, in the midst of separating from Affleck at the time, Lopez had assured her fans that she was taking time off to be with her children, family and friends.

According to Page Six, Lopez is reportedly looking for “a big dance hit” to aid her goal of returning to the charts and has reached out to other artists to discuss the matter. Her primary focus is supposedly returning to the music scene to “wash away the stink” of This Is Me…Now with a new album.

Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August after the pair had been married for two years.

In a recent conversation with Nikki Glaser, Lopez said, “You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t. And then, this summer, I had to be like, ‘I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.’ ”

Last month, Lopez petitioned the court to drop Affleck’s last name.
