After Building A $58 Million Mansion In L.A., Adele Considers Moving Back to London After Feeling ‘Disillusioned’ With Hollywood

Adele, the British singer-songwriter, is reportedly planning to spend more time in her native London, citing feelings of homesickness and disillusionment with Hollywood.

The 36-year-old is already house-hunting in the UK alongside her fiancé, Rich Paul.

Despite her plans, Adele will retain her $58 million Beverly Hills mansion and split her time between the two countries. The diva has spent millions demolishing the former home of Sylvester Stallone, leaving only the iconic Rocky statue.

“Adele has instructed her people to look for a ‘beautiful and secure’ home for her in the capital,” a source revealed to the Daily Mail.

The singer, who recently wrapped her two-year Las Vegas residency, intends to take an extended break from performing. “She plans on keeping her house in L.A., but wants to spend at least half the year back home,” the insider added.

Her decision is partially influenced by her desire to spend more time with her eight-year-old son, Angelo, and to enjoy a quieter lifestyle. Fans speculate this move could signal the beginning of an “early retirement.” While Paul has reportedly tried to dissuade her, the source emphasized, “Adele is a very strong woman. Once she’s made up her mind, no one can change it.”

The move would add to Adele’s extensive UK property portfolio, which includes an $11 million West London apartment and a $13 million Kensington mansion she has yet to move into. Adele had previously sold a $3.6 million Art Deco home in Brighton and a $5 million Tudor manor house in East Grinstead.

The singer’s reported dissatisfaction with Hollywood is also tied to unmet aspirations of transitioning to acting. Sources claim Adele had hoped to follow in Lady Gaga‘s footsteps and pursue a film career, even taking acting lessons and asking her team to pitch her to major studios. However, no offers materialized, leaving her “disillusioned” with the entertainment industry.

Adele’s potential relocation aligns with a growing trend among celebrities leaving the United States following the recent presidential election. Stars like Sophie Turner, Minnie Driver and Eva Mendes have cited political concerns and a desire for a better environment for their children as reasons for returning to or settling in the U.K.
