Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was recently released from prison for assisting in the murder of her mother, and her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson, are separating three months after Blanchard’s release.
Blanchard, 32, announced the news on Facebook on Thursday. Since the post, Blanchard’s Facebook account went private while her Instagram and TikTok accounts have since been deleted.
“People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou. I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find . . . who I am.”
Blanchard was arrested in 2015 for assisting the murder of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard, carried out by her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn. Blanchard’s mother had inflicted severe medical abuse on her, also known as Munchausen by proxy. Blanchard served eight years in the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri before her release in December 2023.
Blanchard’s story has been adapted into several documentaries and a Hulu series, The Act, starring Joey King as Blanchard.
Shorter after her release, Blanchard amassed a large following on social media, notably for her bold comments about her and her husband’s sex life. Blanchard and Anderson got married in July 2022 during Blanchard’s incarceration.
Before her release, Blanchard stated she wanted to have a second wedding with Anderson with their friends and family present. Blanchard has her father, Rod Blanchard, stepmother Kristy Blanchard and half-sister Mia Blanchard, who has been featured on Blanchard’s social media.
