After Being Called A ‘Bad Built, Butch-Body’ At House Hearing, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Gets Her Revenge Posing In A Bikini For Her 50th Birthday

After having her body insulted during a House hearing earlier this month, controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) got her revenge on Monday by posting a flattering bikini shot to mark her 50th birthday.

“From being the first person to graduate college in my family, to carrying three babies in my womb and the absolute miracle of 3 childbirths, to raising my children and teaching them about God’s creation and man’s dangers, to running successful businesses and carrying the weight of the responsibility, being a member of Congress, running, cycling, swimming, competing, training, reading, always learning, creating, building, skiing, surfing, hiking, making mistakes, learning lessons, and most importantly God’s grace that I don’t deserve but am thankful for beyond words, my 50 years have been an incredible journey that I’m thrilled to be on,” Greene wrote in her post.

It was a markedly different tone from the one she showed at the House hearing on May 16. Lawmakers had been working toward voting on whether or not U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland should be found in contempt for refusing to turn over audio recordings between President Joe Biden and special counsel Robert Hur.

“I’d like to know if any of the Democrats on this committee are employing Judge [Juan Merchan] ‘s daughter,” Greene mentioned during the hearing.

“Please tell me what that has to do with Merrick Garland,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) asked the Georgia representative.

Crockett then asked her if she was even aware of the purpose of these hearings. “Do you know what we’re here for?”

“I don’t think you know what you’re here for,” Greene argued. “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) replied to Greene’s comments, saying she wanted “to move to – to take down Ms. Greene’s words.”

“That is absolutely unacceptable,” the New York representative declared. “How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person.

“Are your feelings hurt,” Greene asked sarcastically.

“Oh – Oh, girl,” Ocasio-Cortez stated. “Baby girl.”

“Oh, really,” Greene then asked.

“Don’t even play,” the New York representative demanded. “We are going to move, and we’re going to take your words down.”

The committee’s chairman, Rep. James Comer (R-Kentucky), asked Greene if she wished “to strike” her “words.”

She agreed to have her words stricken but claimed that she would not apologize. 

“Well then, you’re not striking your words,” Ocasio-Cortez argued.

“I am not apologizing,” Greene repeated.

“Why don’t you debate me,” she then asked.

“I think it’s pretty self-evident,” Ocasio-Cortez then mentioned.

“Yeah, you’re not – you don’t have enough intelligence,” Greene said mockingly.

“I’d like to strike those words as well,” Crockett demanded.

After Comer refused to strike the comments, Crocket went in for the kill. 

“I’m just curious,” Crockett told Comer. “Just to better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blond bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”

After these exchanges, the panel voted on whether to kick Greene out of the hearing. Republicans voted to let her stay, but Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) joined Democrats in voting to silence her for the rest of the markup. 

In May, during an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, Greene accused House Speaker Mike Johnson of being “owned by the Democrats.” 

She then claimed Republicans did not save him from her “motion to vacate” his position but was instead saved by Democrats.

On May 19, Crockett called Greene a “racist” on CNN for mocking her eyelashes.
