Pop icon Britney Spears reconnected with her son Jayden for Christmas, sharing proof of their interaction on social media.
Spears shares Jayden, 18, along with her son Sean, 19, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Although Sean was not shown online, sources report that he was also present for the reunion.
In a reel posted to Instagram on December 26, Spears showed herself and Jayden side by side, kissing his cheek for the camera before panning to the cozy fire in the hearth. She captioned the video, “Best Christmas of my life !!! I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years!!! Tears of joy and literally in shock everyday koo koo crazy, so in love and blessed !!! I’m speechless thank you Jesus!!!”
Sean and Jayden reportedly surprised Spears on Christmas.
Spears posted three photos to Instagram on Monday, showing artfully edited photos of Jayden standing in a rocky desert setting.
She captioned the series, “Mine forever!!! It’s weird we’re like twins but he’s a boy and I’m a girl !!! He’s mine I hadn’t seen him in 2 and half or maybe 3 !!! I’m in shock !!! He came back and he feels older and smarter than me!!! He’s a man, and I cry every day of my life because of the miracle and genius he is !! When he plays, the whole earth shakes !!!”
Sean and Jayden moved with their father to Hawaii last year. The brothers have not seen Spears in two years, having previously shared that they were embarrassed by her internet presence.
Spears was released from her 13-year conservatorship under her father in 2019. Since she reclaimed her freedom, Spears’ Instagram posts have received a slew of hatred for their “over-the-top” nature: typical posts demonstrate a strong focus on her body, with frequent thirst traps and sultry phrases.
As some fans complain about Spears’ “obnoxiously” display, other fans protest that Spears’ music has long been famous for its unabashed representation of female pleasure and desire – and her social media image simply reflects that persona.
In recent months, Spears has raised concerns about her mental health with several incidents, including one where EMTs were needed to help her leave an L.A. hotel.
