Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler Doesn’t Want Donald Trump Using ‘Dream On’ On The Campaign Trail

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has filed a cease-and-desist letter to Donald Trump, ordering the Republican presidential candidate to halt the use of “Dream On” at his rallies.

Aerosmith Blocks Trump

“Trump for President does not have our client’s permission to use Dream On or any of our client’s other music in connection with the campaign because it gives the false impression that he is connected with or endorses Mr Trump’s presidential bid,” the cease-and-desist letter reads, according to Rolling Stone.

“If Trump for President does not comply with our demands, our client will be forced to pursue any and all legal or equitable remedies which our client may have against you.”

Trump has been playing Aerosmith’s “Dream On” throughout the summer on the campaign trail. The band had asked the real estate mogul to quit using the song at his rallies two months ago. Despite the request, he’s continued to play it.

Tyler, a registered Republican, is not demanding that Trump cease using “Dream On” for personal political reasons. The singer’s issue with its use has to do with permission and copyright.

Previously during his campaign, Trump was ordered to stop using “Rockin’ in the Free World” by Neil Young and “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” by R.E.M.

“Donald Trump was not authorized to use ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ in his presidential candidacy announcement,” read a statement from Young’s spokesperson. “Neil Young, a Canadian citizen, is a supporter of Bernie Sanders for President of the United States of America.”

“Go f–k yourselves, the lot of you — you sad, attention-grabbing, power-hungry little men,” R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe said of Trump’s use of the track in a statement . “Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign.”
