Aerosmith rocked Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center over the weekend as they began their Peace Out farewell tour.
The tour, which was announced in May, will be the band’s last tour and is set to visit 40 cities in North America. The Saturday concert also marked their 40th concert in Philadelphia.
As the Grammy-winning band sang their most famed songs from the past 50 years, lead singer Steven Tyler took time to share some of their stories with their audience, mentioning that one of their guitars once belonged to Yardbird’s late guitarist, Jeff Beck. Beck died at 78 early this year from bacterial meningitis.
The Peace Out tour also comes after Aerosmith was forced to cancel eight shows of their Las Vegas residency last year when Tyler relapsed following a foot surgery.
Before the tour announcement this year, Tyler was sued for allegedly sexually assaulting Julia Misley (neé Holcomb), who was 16 years old at the time of the alleged assault, which reportedly is said to have happened in the 1970s. Tyler denied all accusations and, according to Rolling Stone, asked that the lawsuit be dismissed.
The Peace Out tour began in Philadelphia last Friday and is slated to end in Montreal on January 26, 2024.
