Of the many changes in life that Adele admits to Vogue that she has made since the release of her 2011 claim to fame, 21, one that really shows is her healthier lifestyle. This is mostly to protect her throat, but Adele now keeps herself from eating or drinking certain foods. Furthermore, Adele no longer smokes and has nearly given up all alcohol consumption. “Now I fit into normal, off-the-shelf clothes, which is a really big problem for me!” the singer said, speaking of her new shopping habit.

Adele also sang praises to her pop contemporaries, including Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Lana Del Rey. Of Mars she said, “He can literally do anything, literally singing the best vocals you’ve ever heard live in your life while he is playing a drum or a bass or doing some mad percussion riff.” She also talked about her love for Del Rey’s song “Salvatore” saying, “Her lyrics are fierce. The chorus of this song makes me feel like I’m flying.”

Adele’s life is in a great place right now as 25 is bound for similar if not greater success than 21. “I like myself more than ever,” she told Vogue. “I feel so comfortable in my own skin. I really like how I look. I like who I am. I like everyone that I surround myself with.” Adele’s main concern right now, though, is being a mother. “When I became a parent, I felt like I was truly living. I had a purpose, where before I didn’t. My main thing is Mum, then it’s me, then it’s work,” said Adele. This is clear as Adele also talked about the efforts she is taking to ensure her son’s privacy. She and her husband, Simon Konecki, successfully sued the British paparazzi to keep their son, Angelo, out of the spotlight.
