Adele has dropped her new single “Easy on Me.”
Shortly after its release, Spotify announced that the song broke the record for the most streams in one day.
Amazon also announced the song has received the most “first-day Alexa song requests in Amazon Music history.”
The single is from her newest album 30 which is set to release on Nov. 19. Her previous album 25 broke the record for highest first-week record sales in United States history. One song from the album, “Hello,” went on to be the fastest video to reach one billion views on YouTube.
The album’s theme will be divorce and has been a work in progress for over three years.
“There I was knowingly — willingly, even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!” she wrote in her record announcement post. “I’ve learned a log of blistering home truths about myself along the way, I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones.”
