Adele and Lionel Richie‘s respective songs that are titled “Hello” have sparked a parody video that has since gone viral.
In the short clip that splices the two “Hello” music videos, Adele is seen singing, “Hello,” into the phone. Cut to Richie singing, “Hello, is it me you’re looking for?” Adele clearly isn’t looking for Richie, as the next shot shows her closing her anachronistic flip phone.
Richie, getting in on the joke, took to Instagram to share a picture of the two singers side-by-side with phones in hand, as well as a snippet from the video.
Adele’s “Hello,” her first new single in years, debuted to positive reviews from fans and music critics alike last week. The song – and the accompanying video – have proven so popular, that the video broke the record previously held by Taylor Swift‘s “Bad Blood” for most views in the first 24 hours. On its first day alone, “Hello” racked up 20.7 million views compared to “Bad Blood”‘s 20.1 million.
25, Adele’s forthcoming album, is set for release Nov. 20.
