The Academy of Country Music Awards were held Sunday night in Las Vegas to celebrate the best in the genre over the last year.
Chris Stapleton was the biggest winner of the night, earning a total of four awards – Male Vocalist, New Male Vocalist, Song of the Year for “Nobody to Blame” and Album of the Year for Traveller.
One of the few categories that Stapleton didn’t win, Entertainer of the Year, went to Jason Aldean. “I was just starting to think this one just wasn’t in the cards for me,” said a surprised and honored Aldean. “I’ll tell you what, I may be rough around the edges a little bit – but I love this business. I love the people in it and I love the fans that support it. Thank you very, very much.”
Single Record of the Year went to Thomas Rhett‘s “Die a Happy Man” and Video of the Year went to Eric Church for “Mr. Misunderstood.”
Miranda Lambert won Female Vocalist of the Year, while Kelsea Ballerini was named the New Female Vocalist of the Year.
As for the groups, Little Big Town was given the Vocal Group of the Year award, and Florida Georgia Line was dubbed the Vocal Duo of the Year.
