A home of KISS guitarist Ace Frehley went up in flames on Saturday and was badly damaged in the blaze.
Frehley was not present at the residence in suburban Yorktown Heights, NY., and does not frequent the property, according to reports. At the time of the fire, a caretaker had been at the home. She is reportedly uninjured and staying in emergency lodging provided by the Red Cross, according to The Journal News.
When firefighters arrived at the house on Saturday morning, flames were burning through the roof. After the crew was able to quench the fire, the house appeared to be severely damaged.
Frehley purchased the house in 2006 and has recently been fighting foreclosure on the property in the Westchester County Court.
The last time Frehley was onstage with KISS was in 2002 for the band’s “Farewell Tour.” As one of the band’s founding members, his persona was that of “the Spaceman.”
