Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley was hospitalized Friday for exhaustion and forced to cancel a Saturday concert.
Frehley was hospitalized in Pennsylvania Friday evening after he showed signs that he was unwell. He was ultimately diagnosed with exhaustion and dehydration. It was announced Saturday that due to Frehley’s condition, he would have to cancel his sold-out concert in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
“Ace Frehley was admitted to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following his show last night at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. After extensive testing, it was determined that Ace’s symptoms were due to exhaustion and dehydration,” read a statement on Frehley’s Facebook page. “In consultation with his doctors, Ace, who aside from the exhaustion and dehydration has been given a clean bill of health, has reluctantly agreed to cancel tonight’s sold out show at the Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY. The venue is working to reschedule the date in late September and expects to announce an exact date later this week.”
The statement added, “In the meantime, ticket buyers for tonight’s show can use their tickets for the rescheduled date in September or return them at the point of purchase for a full refund.”
Yesterday, it was revealed that Frehley had been released from the hospital in far better health than he had arrived in. “Breaking news!! Ace feels great, fully re-hydrated, and has been released from the hospital!,” reads a new Facebook post, which includes a thank you from Frehley to those who cared for him.
