Controversial criminal heartthrob Luigi Mangione has asked his fans to stop sending him so many photos.

Masngione made headlines on Dec. 4 after he allegedly shot and killed the former CEO of UnitedHealthcare in Manhattan. He was arrested five days later at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania when he stopped to flirt with an employee who called the police on him.

A message posted to Mangione’s legal defense fund in the FAQ section stated that “Luigi is allowed to receive photos via Shutterfly and FreePrints in accordance with mail procedures while in custody,” and added, “Due to the volume of photos, they could take longer than usual to be screened and shared.”

The statement continued, “Luigi appreciates the photos that are sent and kindly asks people to send no more than five photos at a time.”

The statement also reminded readers, “Please note that every photo that is received is screened and reviewed by law enforcement.”

A fellow inmate recently reported that Mangione is required to wear “a suicide smock” in jail to prevent hime from taking his own life.

As of Tuesday, Mangione’s defense fund stands at over $615,000. In a statement to the site, Mangione said, “I am overwhelmed by — and grateful for — everyone who has written me to share their stories and express their support. Powerfully, this support has transcended political, racial, and even class divisions…While it is impossible for me to reply to most letters, please know that I read every one that I receive. Thank you again to everyone who took the time to write. I look forward to hearing more in the future.”

While the public’s obsession with Mangione is largely related to his stance as a rebellious assassin for justice, it is greatly inspired by the Ivy League grad’s physical appearance. New photos of Mangione circulated the internet last week, which showed him striking attractive poses in the courtroom. Most notable was a photo of his shackled ankles, casually crossed and sporting fancy loafers.

Mangione faces federal charges that could potentially result in the death penalty. He has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of murder.
