After much back and forth, Paula Abdul, 47, may not be returning for the ninth season of American Idol. “Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on Idol,” Abdul’s manager tells the Los Angeles Times. This year, a fourth judge, Kara DioGuardi, joined mainstays Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson on the panel. Host Ryan Seacrest recently signed a huge multi-million dollar contract renewal, and there is speculation that Abdul wanted a similar raise. Idol diehards have started a grassroots web campaign to keep the quirky Paula on the show. (Photo: WENN)
