The new summer ABC comedy Uncle Buck has been canceled after only one season — ABC confirmed on Wednesday.

James Lesure, who played the role of Will on Uncle Buck, broke the cancelation news on Twitter.

“Disappointed. No more @ABCUncleBuck. Cancelled,” Lesure tweeted. “Thankful to have worked with @ABCNetwork. Proud of what we’ve done. Thx 4 let us entertain u.”

The series was originally ordered to series in May 2015, but was held on the bench throughout the traditional 2015-16 TV season and didn’t air until June.

The series finale aired on Tuesday night after an eight episode run. Uncle Buck reportedly averaged 3.8 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demo over the course of the season.

Based on the 1989 feature film starring John Candy, Uncle Buck starred comedian Mike Epps as an irresponsible uncle who becomes a live-in nanny to his nieces and nephew.
