ABC Anchor David Muir Called ‘Vain’ For Using A Clothespin To Pin His Jacket During L.A. Wildfire Reports

ABC news anchor David Muir was criticized on social media for being vain after viewers caught him using a clothespin to cinch his flame-retardant jacket while reporting on the Los Angeles wildfires.

During a recent live broadcast, Muir observed the damage for ABC News while standing on the street in the Pacific Palisades, where the largest fire, the Palisades fire, caused massive damage to local communities.

“As you can see here behind me,” he stated while pointing to the rubble behind him.

While he looked behind him, a wooden clamp resembling a clothespin could be seen clamped to the back of his jacket. This wooden clamp tightened the jacket, showing off the ABC anchor’s torso.

In response to this fashion decision, X users condemned Muir for his vanity and lack of seriousness about the disaster the people in Los Angeles faced.

“ABC’s David Muir using clothespins to make his prop fire jacket look good on camera,” the user @BryJacoby wrote on January 9. “No one cares about your image, we just want the news! People are losing everything they own, no one cares how you look.”

President-elect Donald Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., declared that the anchor “is so vain that as people in Los Angeles are losing everything, he used clothes pins to make his fake fireman’s jacket more form-fitting.”

“Sick,” he added.

The elder Trump frequently discusses Muir’s good looks in his remarks.
