After 35 years, ABBA has announced that they written and recorded brand news songs.

The Swedish four-piece group broke up in 1983, but they are back “to join forces again and go into the studio.”

They made the announcement that they are returning on Instagram on Friday. When they were back recording it felt like “time had stood still and that [they] only had been away on a short holiday.”

When asked about the two new songs, ABBA’s spokesperson Gorel Hanser said, “the sound will be familiar, but also modern.”

One of their new songs “I Still Have Faith In You” will be performed on in December on a TV special for NBC and BBC.

On top of new music, they group have also decided to put together a “virtual reality” tour for fans. They will not be there in person, but will have holograms for the “ABBA Avatar” tour. “No, you can not expect them to join forces on stage again,” Hanser said. “They will not do that.”

The band had always resisted touring together again, as they also turned down a reported $1 billion tour offer in 2000.

Ever since the announcement, fans have been showing their excitement for the group’s return.

 

 

Details about the release date for their new songs have not been released yet.
