Aaron Paul & His Wife Formally File To Change Names
Aaron Paul, best known for Breaking Bad, has filed court paperwork to change his name legally to, well, his stage name Aaron Paul.
His wife Lauren Parsekian will also adopt the surname Paul, and they are also changing the name of their second child, a son who was born in April of this year.
Paul is formerly Aaron’s last name, with his birth name being Aaron Paul Sturtevant. He moved to Los Angeles after graduating high school in 1997, and all of his acting roles are under the name Aaron Paul. One TV appearance where he had his full name, though, was when he was a contestant on The Price Is Right in L.A. before his big acting break.
Their son, formerly Casper Emerson Paul, already had their desired surname, but Aaron and Lauren said they had come up with a more fitting name and are legally changing it to Ryden Caspian Paul.
Parkesian is an actress and director who directed the documentary Finding Kind in 2011 and also founded the anti-bullying nonprofit organization the Kind Campaign in 2009.
The pair met at the Coachella Festival and got married in 2013. Their first child, a daughter Story Annabelle, was born in 2018.
While this isn’t a big change to Paul’s fans or people that know him professionally, it’s likely reassuring to the family to have the same legal name as their kids.
The concept of stage names is an interesting one in general, with more actors than you might expect having differing names from their birth names. A few actors you may not know have stage names are Brie Larson (born Brianna Sidonie Desaulniers), Emma Stone (born Emily Stone) and David Tennant (born David John McDonald).
You can see Paul in the new movie Dual alongside Karen Gillain, the new season of Westworld, and reprising his role of Jesse Pinkman in two episodes of Better Call Saul.
